Dysport is a product composed of botulinum toxin type A that smooths out facial lines and wrinkles by blocking nerve impulses that travel to specific muscles in the face. Dysport also prevents wrinkles from becoming more noticeable and if used early enough, it can prevent them from forming in the first place.
Dysport has been used for years in the UK and New Zealand, but was just recently brought to the U.S. market by Medicis Pharmaceutical.
Treatment
Small doses of Dysport are injected into specific areas of the face to treat wrinkles of the forehead mostly between the brows and around the eyes. Injections aren’t painful, but a numbing agent can be used if you desire. The results may require a few days to take effect.
Frequently Asked Questions About Dysport
Does Dysport treament change your facial expression?
Although the results are (of course) noticeable, treatment will not dramatically alter your facial appearance. You’ll exhibit a full, natural expression without as many wrinkles and creases.
How does Dysport work?
Wrinkles, lines, and furrows appear over time as the result of muscle activity. Dysport is injected directly into the muscle to temporarily block the transmission of nerve impulses and relax the muscle.
How much does Dysport treatment cost?
As an introductory special, we're passing some savings along to our patients. The current price is $4 per unit. It should be noted that dosing is slightly different for Dysport. For glabellar lines (frown lines) the cost is $200.
